Eh, i know the system is shitty as it stands and everyone eats the same food. It's just my opinion that the game should reward you somehow (not punish you for not doing it) for making varied food (since it's objectively more effort to make 10 kinds of food instead of just one, and i guess variety fep fills that niche in a way) instead of pushing people into eating even less varied foods.
But i do get your logic behind deleting satiations even if i don't completely agree with it. And i also think that just implementing those suggested systems without completely eliminating satiations would still be miles ahead of what we have now without question.

I think the same, rewarding players for eating varied food instead of punishing for eating the same thing seem like a way to go.
Other than that hunger should definitively be tied to stat gain instead of random value on a piece of food.

I'm going to tell you a secret. Rewarding everybody except one guy is mechanically the same as punishing one guy. All previous attempts to enforce variety have failed to achieve their goal, and also we skipped past the step where anybody gives a valid reason for variety being enforced being good for gameplay.

This is right, that is why don't force, just encourage.
Valid reason would be to include more content into the game instead of making single recipe for each stat work, with so many recipes in the game, and new ones constantly being added for some reason it's kind of required.
Example for promoting variety might be that each time you gain stat you are getting bonus to the kinds of foods that you were eating least so far 30% FEP, this way some other recipes might become viable for a while.
Also reduce the amount of satiation types. 18 different satiations is way too much to balance. Reduce it to eg. Forage, Dairy, Bread, Meat, Fish, Vegetables and Others.

variety should be good because the variety of meals are good. Not because your forced the game should have many ways to get the same stats, less major outliers and more parallel options to food.

The don't have xyz use zxy you get about the same stats and it's another meal for sats currently it's use xyz cause everything else is shit :D

It's not. If one guy doesn't want to interact with game systems he doesn't get their benefits, that's how video games are made.

System right now is "You can't eat more of this one thing because you won't get enough fep for it to be worth it, also eat every hour to maximize gains", that's punishing for someone who wants to focus on one kind of food and not waste their time eating on a schedule, it basically forces them to eat other foods.
A rewarding system would be something akin to "You ate a lot of sausages, you can keep using them to fep without problems, but how about you eat some pastry since the next 20 pies you eat will grant you some extra fep/less hunger".

The difference being that you can ignore the system and still get your stats (perhaps at a higher hunger cost but for less time spent), or you can choose to interact with it and get those stats easier and maybe get a bit more compared to others thanks to putting in the effort to actually make different kinds of food (similar to people eating localized resources recipes and getting easy stats), and yes i do believe that if someone puts in the effort to make different kinds of food he should have a bit more stats.
