Something proposed before - tie your character(s) to your IP, so whether you play only a main or have a dozen alts the game considers it one player (the IP). Not infallible, you can use VPN/proxies to have different IPs, but if you're obssessed enough with beating the game to go to that extent there's little to be done anyway.

Yeah kinda weird how they thought localized pools are a good idea. I just want to be able to find shit wherever I happen to live in, instead of being penalized if I happen to live in more populated area or if it happens to be a more botted area.

The regular noob who actually goes out to forage and interacts with the outside world suffers from local pools.
These are the same people who usually have no idea they can go to a different continent to get better results.
We should be looking after the interests of these people. They make the world feel alive.

The regular noob who doesn't bother to learn the game basics shouldn't really affect how the game is played.

But local pools suck indeed. I mean, there should be some benefits to moving to other continents and I actually like the fact that uninhabited areas are full of stuff to collect, but ugh, I can exhaust the local pool myself, without any bots.

It's enough to do a couple of truffle runs on a good spot and I'm already getting a lot of less of them. Pretty harsh.

Edels are indeed impossible to find on the main continent when the world is new, unless you've decided to grind your character non-stop since the world start and you're among the first ones to see them. Same for early world mussels / pearls. They're just too easy to completely exhaust with a normal playstyle.

The concept of local pools would work very well if the game were conducive to traveling merchants. Caravans of wagons traveling between farms and villages and markets, "wheeling and dealing" along the way; but the odious task of keeping roads clear and the state of PvP would make this a near suicidal endeavor.

Moving to another continent to get to a pool of something you want probably also means leaving a pool of something else you need. "There's no such thing as a free lunch."

Sure they should. Especially if the majority of your playerbase is noobs.
Their opinion should affect the gameplay they are most familiar with.
