It wouldn't. Would still be nice for butchering all the farm animals you don't really care for, or the low-q stuff the new hunter is bringing in for glue.

If you want the bonuses to take effect, you do it manually as before. Just like you do with using the sawmill vs a manuals saw with the lumberjack credo

Butchering "station" working like the anvil (attach axe) wouldn't give you that given the anvil is not automated. It's a glorified chest, if your hunter doesn't put back in the chest the axe after using it now, it still won't put it back on the butchering station after butchering.

Butcher cleaver makes butchering very fast. Just give the cleaver a q bonus over the stone axe, and you're good to go. Issue is not doing it by hand, but rather using the wrong tool (just like it was with mining with the stone axe vs pickaxe)

The station idea is nice. We have some promising starts with being able to leave the smith's hammer at an anvil. Maybe later that hammer could be used automatically?
For a butcher's station, it could take a butcher's table with say 4 inventory slots for animal carcasses and being able to leave the sharp tool there. Maybe even adding meat hooks in certain radius to increase inventory space and batch process everything.

and there was also idea for a "kitchen" (cooking station), having barrels containers and cauldron all interact in a short raidus (such as auto-refills for cauldron)
