some things shouldn't be easy to mass produce. Foraging should have some use, and getting people out of their base instead of permanently turtling up is good for multiplayer pvp game

I agree with this, but to some people that live far from the biomes that spawn these, it's really annoying.
I think maybe these mushrooms i mentioned could take a long time to grow on garden pots, like 1 batch a rl month? That way u still have incentive to go out and forage anyways, so as to increase your monthly batch. But you also don't rely completely on foraging.

Birchbark Bream, Creamy Cock, Pea Crop, Pea Pie Dough, Ring of Brodgar (Seafood), Spring Stew, Unbaked Poultry Pot Pie

Is really good?

I haven't tried any of that for ages, hard to believe those recipes forgotten by gods can yield something useful.

My village found some really good Poultry Pie recipes and that was before pickled peas.

Yes and the few on that list that were already good, before pickled peas, got to that typical ridiculous level of other pickled foods.
I predicted this happening in that other thread where we talked about pickled mushrooms.
Someone sneaked in a suggestion that will generate more food thats stronger and easier to make than cheese.
Powercreep is real and happening right now.

+1 on all that, any foragable that's not plantable in some sort of manner might just not exist and it'd have basically 0 impact on the gameplay beyond week 1-2. They will never have good quality, you will never have nearly enough of them to mass-produce anything, best bet is botting them but y'know, at that point just let us plant them.

Sounds good, but I'd rather see them growing in the wood pulp than pots, like with champignon family. Especially puffballs

Irl u can innoculate wooden dowels with some species of shrooms and then hammer those dowels in to dead(mirkwood) logs

Could have something like that

Like right click a mirkwood log with shrooms for simplicity sake, with log quality soft capping shrooms, and/or stumps

Would make cute larp decor too
