I’m not sure, but there’s something autistic about always doing the same things, getting to know the places… People like that in video games; it makes them feel at home.
The advantage could be having a degree of intentionality in how the map can be played – hard-to-reach places, strategic locations, or simply very beautiful and secluded spots... There's room.
On the other hand, the map would always be the same.
Perhaps a combination of the two? Or perhaps the time available simply doesn’t allow for it, but it’s interesting to speculate on what could be done in this direction.
