Nothing will happen to the modders. We'll simply use verified clients that don't violate balance or rules.

If you're talking about modders who do this for themselves, there's no guarantee that cheating and bug exploitation aren't used without publishing.

Your example of improving the client to allow players to log into the game—what are the challenges of making this publicly available? It might also help others.

I think that thread makes it public already, since it's basically a few small changes that supposedly fix the problem

however each dev likes to test things by themselves to be sure, and sometimes they already have a bunch of mods so they need to check for compatibility... I think this is the main reason no one used the workaround, it's not a property thing because is just a small addition to fix a temporary problem

This is the question. Why?

Almighty Jorbo? Why?

There is a response, and it goes something like this:

Where were you when I laid the foundations of the hearth?
And you even have the nerve to ask me why?
......
Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.

There’s even a far harsher saying from the hearth that goes something like this:

You ask why? But who ever promised you otherwise? Who ever promised you that your player would be safe? Who ever promised you hope? Those who have no hope do not despair.

And then there’s another saying from the hearth that tells you the answer is that there is no answer, and when you ask questions, it suggests you go for a swim until you stop asking questions.

Here’s how it works:

1.Got questions? Find a nice big lake—or if you prefer, the ocean.
2.Take off your clothes, go for a good swim, and come back.
3.Still have questions? Get back in the water, this time swim a little farther out, then come back.

Repeat step 3 until you have no more questions.
Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.

Also, if you're interested in my take on the hearth:

keep asking questions, but don't ask others—it won't help. Instead, ask yourself.
Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.

You are leaving out what everyone leaves out, time. The majority of players are not pvper's. They gather in larger groups because, for whatever reason, they have the gift of no responsibility and time. Time to dedicate every waking hour to this. That is fine, just offer a choice.

I'm doing this, and I have ideas that will provide this choice. But they're need to be carefully thought out.

In my view, Haven is a sandbox with many possibilities, but social interaction between players is left up to the players themselves.

From my perspective, it looks like a real sandbox where you have sand, arms, and legs, and can do whatever you want. You can make anything out of sand. Build castles or mold food. But those who want to destroy what others have built only need arms and legs, while for collaborative building and collaboration, toys and tools are not enough.
