I more or less just haven't been playing because of this change lol. Part of it is that this world's updates are generally just boring and I largely think bad but the other part is just that hunting without the old cheesing is aggressively unfun. Obviously there are just new and more annoying ways to cheese most animals but still. The fact that animals have been easily cheesable has literally propped up hunting since legacy
This is the outcome everyone with an above room temp IQ predicted every time animal cheese came up in conversation btw. Did it make sense for hunting to work that way? No. Is the game objectively less fun now that it is gone? Yes.

I'd say the difficulty has be raised so that "spear" hunting cheese can be done. The client cheese of just allowing "Auto Hunt" on the custom clients was insane for the last few spear enabled worlds allows several clients to be run and just hunt with semi automated hunting. While the less hardcore offender tend to only use the Autor ranger features in the custom clients (placed you outside the animals range when aggroing).
Now here comes the player whiner "nobody did that".

I don't think the system right now is good, but it's clearing moves non-stop is more a kin to what fighting a player would be like.
The bouncing of the animals is a little scuffed since it's still cheeseable.
Caves/houses are still rather overpowered since the animal freezes up (does not try to clear or use combat moves) while hunting from inside a building.
Mammoth, and Whales are still cheeseable this world.

In most cases if you can out run the animal (Swans, boars and walrus) they clear moves pretty quickly, all other cases you have to tank the fight.
To fight things like bears or greater a buddy is preferred

I'm not sure about this crowd but this basically seems like legacy haven hunting where you needed 300 stats to take a bear on 1 v 1.

I'm not making any suggestions to hunting currently as I wanted to give this world a very fair test to hunting, I don't find much of a challenge other then instead of kitting I am tanking more.
The only animal that our group needs to kill still is a troll, what tends to be easy since we bow hunt them.

surpassingly I've not gotten to do a single dungeon this world, but I doubt those changed since most of that was tank fighting anyhow.
So really only boat/spear nerf and people are whining they can't just range cheese now...

This failed anti-cheese update should have gone hand in hand with new hunting balance or mechanics to compensate and shake things up instead of attempting to rip out something that is considered a fundamental mechanic by the players.

A bit funny they recently banned someone for multibox hunting and then proceeded to release an experimental world where the dev-intended method of hunting is outnumbering the animal.
