3- we don't care about your in game experience when we say quit, we will make you quit.(this one adds a bit of insult to injury)
4- we want to make it hard for you to communicate to friends developed in game.(this is sure to drop any games regulars by more than half)
5- ha! We hope you read the fine print. Now that we got your interested in the game, get out or give me money!(rude.)
6- We don't care about those who cant afford to give us money.(you know your players are people, right?)
7- there are quite a few more, but I am sure you are not reading this, so I will make this the end.

Over all summary. Your payment system is saying you don't care about your player base, so don't expect them to flock around you.

There, there. Lunarius. We do not need tempers running wild in this thread any more than they already are.

How does 0.1 cent (tenth of a cent) times 20,000 make 2,000$ ?
Or are you saying that companies give 10 cents per single display of an add on webpage? You greatly overestimated this number

I have used Google analytics and ad sense calculator to give you a base for how much you stand to earn and attached it to this reply. There are better services out there that pay more than Google for ad services, but you stand to make a fair amount with your current page views.
(Google is the example because they are the only one that provides such tools for their services.)
At least an advertisement won't affect the players gameplay, they would only see it once on page when they clicked the play game button.

I have strong feeling that most people reading forums are using adblock. Or will use if site will start looking like this

The point is there are many viable ways to make money off they players without trying to force it from their pockets.

Given the state of the game and its need to collect a client base, the current method is sure to only slowely strangle their own potential to make money. A subscription plan would be suicide for an unfinished niche market game like this. Item malls and advertiment revenue are non-invasive ways to earn even more money than their current model could ever hope to earn.

That's just a comedian. Jorb obviously needs a real means to earn money for his work. This method will earn him more money much faster than the option he is currently using.
Jorb is likely absorbing the costs associated with running a server and not making much if anything as profit for his pockets. A small group of subscription based players can not provide anywhere near the income a large base of free players can.

costs:
websites domain and hosting costs- domain $50 a year or so and host varies greatly depending on the reliability you pay for. could be $5 a month-$30 a month
server hosting costs- there are likely multiple servers and all are probably VM's you would need a server for development and testing of coding, then another server for people to play on. There is the legacy version he is running as well so there are likely at least 3 servers. $50 per server per month would be a conservative guess.
Development team time- Time is money. If Jorb is not out working a job somewhere that means he needs to make him money from this game for daily life. I don't know the cost of living where he is from, but I guarantee he is living the poor life right now(along with any other developers on this project). Assuming he doesn't have a wife that makes all the money anyway.
If you want to see the developers thrive, give them real options to make money. He does not have the player base to secure his current model of subscription based play and none of us want to see him go broke trying to support this game.
Corporations that have large amounts of money need the ability to keep its customers informed and interested with those advertisements, why not take their money and place a single banner style ad? It is the easiest money he could hope to make.(ad-blockers are only used by tech savvy web surfers and are of no real concern for those who hope to earn revenue with web traffic)
