Even with a 150k LP skill, it would still be "no" ?

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

On the whole I have been lucky with the firebrands, it does usually light first time, occasionally on the second try but every now and again it has taken 4/5 times and it does then become a bit silly, all that stamina drain not to mention the frustration over the amount of time that takes.

I think this is a nice idea.

You're out on a journey, nearly at your destination, but you have to stop because you're at 1050% energy and have to cook some meat.

The firebrand burned down. Drink some water, 900%.
The firebrand burned down. Drink some water, 750%.
The firebrand burned down. Drink some water, 600%...

The firebrand burned down. Drink some water, 450%.

THE FIREBRAND
BURNED
THE FUCK
DOWN.

Oh, you really are too cute failing at this.

Yes, flint & steel would be nice.

Of all the good things in Salem, you decide to port the worst one to Haven :(

We didn't, though! This one is far more lenient.

Bro. Real talk?

This is about randomness, not leniency. You could make the thing drain 95% stamina and triple the timer and I wouldn't mind as long as the minimum burn time was at least long enough to light the fire.

If you fuck up, it's not because you fucked up, it's because your stick pulled the short stick.

Actually now that I think about it why don't I start the firebrand in the fire itself? I'm right on top of it anyway, shielding it from the wind and using the best kindling and technique because of my intensive survival skill.

The above text should fill the screen but apparently there are limits of decency I must observe.

hemp or linen + press -> oil
clay -> clay lamp
clay lamp + string -> oil lamp
oil lamp fill with oil, ignit the usual way : you got a portable fire camp
can be pose on ground, hang on walls, nedd to refill only once in 24h ( so I can illuminate my village with lampes on columns)
stop this stupid wax/tar stuff when oil is cheap and easy to make

Metal Braziers like they have in Stronghold 1 could work. Fill with tar or coals from your fire and they can stay lit a long time?

There is also a torch that one can make that is a hollowed out log stuffed with grass that you place an ember in. Works well when you don't have things to make the "conventional torch" such as a survival situation. You can transport fire from one place to another.

It would have to take up a hand slot tho and does eventually burn out. Can't remember what the name of the kind of torch this is, but maybe Jorb and Loftar could implement it. "Early Game Survival Torch"
