Well we don't have pro botters here, game mechanics not so well known. And if it is impossible to catch via actions i could become a mod and oversee what people do with pleasure if devs don't want to be bothered with that. All i am saying is that wrong actions are being taken against botting.

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

This game is Full of pro botters, they are actually a considerable sized minority in this game.

Not to mention people that don´t know shit about botting and bot anyway using other people´s bots.

The devs allow people to openly mess with the source code of the game to create custom clients, this makes it much easier for these people to make bots.

Bottom line is: This game has a higher pro-botters/regular players ratio than pretty much any other game, simply due to the small server population.

That made me laugh somehow, you probably dont know about edels and bluebells, do you ?

lp/hr is not the problem, the system or its mechanics are. I didn't find any bluebell or edel in 5 months, I live between a swamp and a mountain... I'm not the only one having the same problem.

I hope and I also think devs already got the 'real' problem... Hence their idea ¦]

Oh shit, I actually posted this in the wrong damn thread. Reposting here.

Just remove the damn Fate system altogether. It's absolutely horribly implemented and it has made more players leave than you will ever realize at this rate, including myself, and no, none of us were botters. Just people who wasted putting nearly 100 points into Exploration only to find out that the skill is worthless.

Fate system would have been fine if you made some new, ridiculously good curiosities that people would actually be excited as fuck to get, while taking the current curiosities that are a part of the Fate system and just making them regular curiosities again.

Just put the damn Flotsam and shit that is already a part of the fate system back in the game so that they can be found regularly, Exploration is a complete trap of a skill now.

I start every new world with a foraging character. Every single one. I'm just gonna say it now, if I get my Exploration back up to around the 70 mark and find that I still can't find anything worthwhile, I'll be dropping the game again, because what you're doing is ruining foraging for the rest of us because of botters, WHICH CLEARLY HASN'T EVEN STOPPED THEM.
Find another damn way to do it.

With the new map generation making rivers an actual thing again, I hope to actually run into my favorite curiosity while I'm out making my foraging rounds.


More people dropped the game because of this one change you did than you might actually think (next to the "old" payment model, of course)

Honestly I don't know what would be a better alternative because the old system is too easy to bot. The current system has been quite effective at reducing the availability of the top tier curios which has made botters less powerful. Just it ended up hitting everyone else too.

You could try to invoke something regarding ancestral worship. Sacrifice some crafted curios or foodstuffs for improved chances at fate. You could also give some small hints in the form of riddles for where you might find fate curios for a short while, at random.

Hitting the jackpot is quite satisfying, especially when farming for glimmermoss can be a drag after a while. Maybe instead of worrying about fate specifically the focus can be on any number of mechanics that can make exploration more varied and interesting. It's not an easy problem to solve thats for certain.
