How about some unique decorative items (statues, paintings, etc.), that you can find each world (lift and move them, maybe even destroy them if you so wish) and bind to your player, if you end up bound to it at the end of the world you get to keep it in your hearthfire for the next world. Of course another player could steal it and bind it to them (Only issue is see is that in a village if someone got mad they could bind it to themselves/destroy it, and you'd probably need a visitor gated area for them with different permissions). Would give more incentives to explore the world (since they'd probably pretty expensive).

Silly examples:

player traveled x amount/explored % map
player managed to discover all localized resources
death by troll
killing a troll
X amount of credos done
X amount of quests done
killing a thousand bears
mining all ores

the only reason I'd be against "world 1st anything" is because this game's based on RNG on so many aspects.
