So the scaling barely slows down its just linear. You come back in 6 months and you are just an ant to be stepped on

Isnt the world supposed to reset around 6 month now anyway? genuine question

Counterpoint: Fep system good early game, fep system annoying mid-late game once you start pushing your stats above what devs consider reasonable without using the few opop foods that sheep pointed out, making you shovel cupboards of meh foods to get that few extra points. And hunger isn't real because of either questing, salt or you can just wait (which is like, eat from 150% to ~100% and wait 2-3 days or so).

Like the whole premise of this system is that "you can produce and focus on whatever kinds of foods you want" which is simply not true after you get past a certain point. You can focus on cheese, pork/beef, bollocks, and/or gathering localized resources like driftkelp. And I guess the 3-4 "good" recipes made from pickles. The alternative is making a metric shitton of meh food that will take more effort and work than the aforementioned and give you less stats. It's basically like it used to be but the good recipes are not insanely better fep/hunger wise (which is good tbh), only a lot better effort/stats gained wise (well there is also the part about satiations making it so you want to eat the HIGHEST fep recipe per each satiation as fep/hunger is not the bottleneck), and hunger is not real. Like yeah it allows you to eat "bad" foods without feeling like shit, but it still feels like shit to actually eat it compared to the good foods just not hunger-wise.

I'm just gonna go out and say it, it felt better FOR ME to eat the autism steaks last world and get a con+2 each time i clicked one without using stuff like driftkelp, instead of eating 2 different sausages, 3 roasted meats and a few berries for the same effect. Is the food system overall better for MOST? Sure. But it doesn't REALLY accomplish what it was meant to accomplish and i think the amount of food you actually have to eat increased a lot per each fep. Early game eating was very nice tho, being able to basically eat everything and not having to eat ONLY fish. I don't even think stats were much (if any) lower this world.

One thing that would make any FEP system better, for anyone: add a preview of the percentage filled, if you eat/feast the piece of food, you've hovered your cursor over to.

(Without downloading Hurricane/whatever public custom client at the time happens to have said feaute added by the 3rd party client developer.)

You basically get no feedback whether the piece of food you just ate, and "one-shotted" your FEP bar, filled your bar 101% (very efficient) or 300% (unless the latter food is somehow cheaper/easier to make, very inefficient.)

Vatas it might be worth moving this thread over to C&I. While it was not my original intention to get feedback on the food system I think there are worthwhile insights throughout this post that devs/others might want to see (and might be missed/misinterpreted if the topic remains in Inn of Brodgar)
Is this the real life?
Or is it fantasy?
Caught in a landslide...
No escape from reality...
