Since this is now a thread for all of the combat skills, then I would like to add that I'd like to see Unarmed be viable on its own and not just some shitty inferior MC skill. It's not like making a sword is hard or anything, so I don't see why having one provides such a ridiculously huge advantage to the point that every close combat fighter has one.

I read something earlier about giving Knuckle dusters a buff as well as adding a Claw like weapon, which sounds like a great idea to me. Variety is a great thing, and that is currently the thing combat is lacking. You're either an archer, or an UA/MC guy (favoring MC greatly) with a sword and shield. I'd like to see people running around with axes, dusters/claws, sword&shield, bows, and even slings.

Give each weapon type its own niche.

So oneshot with sword is OK for you.

Why, apart from that being your playstyle?

I agree here, most people just want there own personal playstyle to be the strong one.

I think 2-3 shots are fine though, allows room for mistakes and comebacks.

Probably has more to do with a sword/b12 actually has to break defenses first and then go through your armor?

b12 needs a buff regardless or armor pen at the loss of more armor - using one verses sword n board was only worth over 400 strength in previous worlds...and with the cap it needs to be relooked at.

You can oneshot someone with bow even if he has 5 defences up, but you can't oneshot anyone with sword/b12 if they have even 1 defence up.

How about a new defensive move that would partially protect you from arrow shots if you have it active. Lets say if the guy has it active, he would only receive a fraction of the damage , if he forgets to put it on or the defensive manuver gets shot down by multiple arrows then it is his fault and he gets to taste the 100% damage. This would fuck up many people's 5 card decks too.

I dont think anyone is disagreeing that the one shot needs to go, but if it goes completely no one will use an archer at all.

BTW - all this is assuming equal combat levels.

a person with 300 mm/perception/bow quality one shotting a 100 ua/mc is obviously fair and balanced due to the balance of progression. Also taking into account weapon/arrow quality etc etc

When exactly should the one shot be achievable though? I'd say 100mm vs 50ua/mc seems pretty fair. a jump of 50% in stats or so.

With an arrow you'll have to hit.

What I dislike about PvP is that the first damage you get usually is also the final.
Something to change that to make it more like Mortal Combat and less like Benny Hill as-is now...
