Why is this such a big deal, and why does everyone keep harping about this? I have during the course of this world laid my grubby little hands on almost all types of localized resources, and I'm a hermit nub. If you actually watch the wonders, my experience is that there are plenty of unclaimed ones out there simply for the taking.

What else?

But that broken spiral could be fixed through Finery Forges applying their quality and that of the fuel onto the bars processed by them.
Softcap would already do the trick.

Most other processing objects modify quality, why don't these?
And it would scale down excessive quality of quite some things in the game, which wouldn't hurt IMHO.

I to can wander the world and find many spots. and can normally get there right before the timer.
One of the problems was the alts. There is a bot/alt engine that fkbois are using.
the only way to really stop alts from the 10sec grab and log is to have each resource have an amount of time to gather. (ice 1min, salt 20sec, clay 5sec, ect)

The other problem that has been stated a bunch of times is alt towns claiming them and setting up a wall.
These towns are near impossible to destroy if they are manage by the alarm bot. (bot logs on sees catapult. or w/e it's looking for and send of alarm.)

my own solution was each resource puts a rather large drain on auth (from 50k-1mill a day depending on the resource)
that way a alt town can't simply claim a random resource.

man the finery forage cap/fuel cap is pretty hard on the metal anyways, u have to constantly upgrade ur kiln, finery, tarkilns through boneclay, upgrade ur trees it takes tons of time and its nowhere near as simple as running a bot for 5 days and coming back to a q500 anvil XDDD so ya they DO modify quality X D

Then they modify it not enough so you can still overcome the reduction introduced by them through the possible +20% increase when hammering the bloom.
Possibly that modifier on the wrought recipt needs to be capped to +max(q*0.2, 20) instead the current +20% (or even replaced by a fixed +/- 10 modifier), which would result in metal quality over 100 no longer being exessively raised through this mechanic.
The current mechanic makes sense up to a certain point but after that the absolute gain from the exponential effect of repeating the wrought cycle gets too high.

You kinda reminded me the time where Koya had AD mining non-stop bringing in metal (world 4?) so we could surpass everyone easily.
on day 1 we went from q10 to q80 anvils. by the end of the week we had q160. Then there was little me running around dafaq world looking for q80+ clay (godbless when I found q94).

Anyhow. regardless of me finding the clay. the metal was still going up dumb amounts and it was mainly from just sheer brute forcing the Q.
damn fking anvil was q300 by the end of the 2ed week. and that is why you saw AD rolling around with q100-140 steel swords at a very early game.

With the correct group and setup. yeah you sky rocket from metal alone :/
