What? How out of touch are you guys to think mining 'away willy nilly' was a problem? That engaging in semi-rewarding content without being fucked up 50 different ways and having to jump over hoops to do so (we already do! slimes, supports, boreworms!) was a problem and that it needed to be remedied with tedium?
Metal doesn't do anything past a certain point. Only precious ones, and not even. Nobody ever gave a shit about the garbage iron they produced past spiralling it up, which needed a nerf on its own, not mining as a whole. You're just adding more stupid tedium that makes this game less fun. We already have slimes which can fuck basically anyone up harder than a troll, and funworms which are the same deal.
Take a playbook from games that don't stop growing - they listen to their community's feedback. People won't reccomend a bag of ass to their friends, but word might actually spread about a game whose devs listen to their community, and your responses here were flippantly defensive and carelessly detached. "Just don't." Wow, awesome. Mining out huge areas wasn't a problem - it didn't lend to any problems. It didn't cause any problems, it was a fun activity for people to hunt for the appropriately rare and sparse ore nodes. Now it's more tedium, more stupid bullshit that causes weeks-long, character debilitating, debuffing wounds just for the sake of the post-ironic warm fuzzies you get from making things generally shit and miserable.
