Imagine black&white John Locke shitting on a hermit forever, there you have the future of Haven if it releases (gas) on Steam.

First of all, 1 million is just insanely unrealistic for this game, it's too niche of a game, but I assume you're just using extremes as an example to get your point across?

I personally think more players is not an issue at all, because with more players comes more resources (money) to invest into better/more servers. The worlds would probably have to be bigger and servers be able to handle more players and/or split the playerbase up into several servers. How they'd do that in a balanced way, I'm not sure, but I wager they'd be able to come up with something.
Hope you have a great day

Tbf if hafen had 500k players it's highly likely 99.99% of big boys now would become shitters just due to how statistics works. It's super unlikely we have the top 0.001% skill player in a community of 1k players (AT MOST). I don't think it would change that much for hermits (as the world would surely be made MUCH MUCH bigger) but it would certainly fuck with a lot of people's egos.

People who literally wear my picture as their PFPs and talk about me constantly, trying to argue that I am supporting a steam release because of my ego. I really do live rent-free in your minds, don't I? (literally the second guy with john lock pfp in this thread that's not robert and he is not even talking about his ego)

Of all problems Haven & Hearth could have "too many players" is not one of them

With current and likely eternal server tech we would be capped at 2k players per server, so we would simply be given more server options to play on. i.e more severs for toxic players to be scumbags in till they kill the game to current state.

Steam wouldn't change anything for this game other than make more people wish the game was better :D
