This.

The minority playing only to figure out and/or whine on forums for another sure way to kill someone for good should seek professional help.

The vast majority of players still get knocked out by boars after playing this game since 2011, and people call them "newbies"

As someone who died to bum burnm it's hilarious and should stay. It's advanced enough you should really pay attention by that point.
I would add more sound effects for when you are taking bum burn damage in excess of say 15% health, and for starvation (tummy growl). Perhaps even visual indicator for starvation, a floating empty stomach over your hearthling

i think perma death is great but some of the ways you listed you can die is dumb. perma death gives more feelings associated with the game which increases the addiction. there really should be a thing to read in the client that shows you all the ways you can die though or some shit. people may quit when they die, but maybe they just want an excuse anyways, and they will probably be back the next world to try it all again. i never fear death or cry about it. but when im sitting there fucked and i know im gonna die watching someone beat the shit out of me my hands start to shake a little and i love it xd but wtf i know huh :)

"Water deeper than a knee's height" being more lethal (100%) than a two-handed battleaxe (0-100% lethal depending on various factors) is stupid, feels bad, and is completely unintuitive for a new player.

"Faction PvP being nearly non-lethal while newbs keep dying" is stupid, feels bad, and is completely unintuitive for a new player.

I don't think permadeath should be removed. The feel and playstyle would be completely different without it. I wouldn't say it would be bad, it would just be a different game.

I think there's a "simple" way to make permadeath acceptable - give the player multiple lives. For example, 3.
This would allow players to accumulate experience, find ways to avoid it, and at the same time, continue playing instead of starting over.

It would also provide insurance against accidental deaths or, much worse, death due to technical issues—a computer reboot during a battle, or a power outage.
The likelihood of this happening three times in a row is extremely low.

Also, if a player takes rage, they'll only have one life, just like they do now—if you want to kill someone, be prepared to die yourself.
