someone thoughtful would have to come up with an idea

This game includes things like:
- Drinking 500 litres of water a day
- Eating 500 kg of fep a day
- Building a huge-ass wall in like 10 minutes
- Digging a well in 10 seconds
- Using magic trees to teleport around

and so on.

You dead-ass thinking combat should be hyper-realistic in this game is dumb. Removing running et al. create the problem you think already exists, which is an unfairly high impact of stats on combat. Also, combat would be a whole lot more boring if people couldn't do anything except stand around and hit people. Writing an optimal combat-move bot is trivial.

Why don't you try and involve yourself in PVP before suggesting the whole system is changed to fit your uninformed view of it.

for example in a 1v1 situation the best someone who loses can do is sprint away and reduce the opening, so they do not get a lot of damage, only to get back and be put in the same situation again

let it be broken then, I tried to suggest some nice change but apparently noone even seemed to want to adress that a higher amount of HP or higher weapon damage means faster or slower KO without really allowing a way to overcome it in a way other than outnumbering, but I guess that noone cares and this thread can die now

and if playing tag, dropping frog, or running into some funny wind with leaves is such fun, then so be it, I didn't want the whole game to be so realistic in all aspects but I thought that at least some change could be made so group combat looks less funny

Mobile skirmish style combat with a lot of running around isn't inheritly bad but lets face it- running itself is clunky as fuck in haven. Both client side and server side lag can cause you to teleport back and forth or run in place, collisions are funky especially when you turning your character who for some reason have square collision box and it rotates instantly, cliff jumping is inconsistent as hell etc etc. I understand why big pvp shots don't even want t hear of changing anything since they invested a lot of time and effort to got gut at this system but its by far not pleasant experience.

I don't think many people would disagree with you but changing haven combat because of shitty game performance is fixing the wrong problem. "big pvp shots" also disagree with the general idea of op because it's retarded and generally he's just in denial and try's to win arguments instead learning.

the point was a little bit different, what I meant is how do you overcome it in a way other than having higher stats or outnumbering?

but I guess we can let this thread die now
