Without death, there is a remote possibility of a little more social interaction, but the game would also lose much of its meaning, in the sense that everything would be less significant.
Probably not a good idea.

There are things that they said they'll not do, yet they did anyways. Like releasing on steam.Kamekono wrote:Not surprisingly, the only people asking for it are people who haven't been playing for long. Or trolling with alt accounts.
That is straight up not true. I wonder what gave you the idea that this is the case.Kamekono wrote:Back to the main topic of death and PvP, I'll share a short story: I don't PvP. I tried once a couple of worlds back, and it sucked.
I joined a large fight. I was an easy target, and yet didn't even get KOed. Very few people did, people that looked worse equipped than me, so probably alts.
The whole time, the thing was quite confusing: people running like headless chickens, occasionally tagging each other.
After some time, it was all over. None of the "targets" got KOed. None of our usual fighters got KOed. Felt like a big waste of time.
I haven't tried PvP since, and I don't think I will again unless something really big is changed.
Death is not really scary in PvP, as most people will be using a dedicated character for it anyway. You won't see the cook or the tailor heading into battle.
Removing death might bring a couple of newbies into the game, but will likely also make some of the current fighters quit. As the whole goal of PvP is to try and kill your enemy, which right now seems kind of rare and has little consequences anyway.
Yeah, combat being shit is just one of the issues with PvP here.Jenno wrote:How do you even wall someone's base in?
Either build a village over someone's personal claim, from there you just build a wall around.
Or in case of there already being a village, you need to fully surround it with a village of your own. You can use multiple villages to make it faster and then connect claim covered areas with personal claims in-between. It is quite a big project, but it is doable.
Newbie53 wrote:You can effortless wall off any base that is not too massive by making personal claims on all 4 sides. Big design flaw in my opinion. Alternatively, village banners can be used which is much slower but more thorough as they leave no gaps and in a pve server this would be impossible to deal without without moderator interferance

Since there needs to be a gap between personal claims, it's not walled off. You can still enter and exit your base no problem. It'd be a minor inconvenience at most lol.
If you have a village of your own it's not even that since you can just remove those claims with minimal effort.
