this entire thread just proves why people need to be muted on realm chats tbh, thanks for making this anti-suggestion thread

Holy shit post; If you don't like how the realm is ran, go ram the Coronation Stone.

This has nothing to do with kingdom management. I'm happy with the kingdom I live in. Someone just has the ability to ban chat at will. This isn't chat moderation, this isn't kingdom management, this isn't a game mechanic. Perhaps it was designed for this purpose, but they're using it for something completely different. It doesn't work and only harms the game.

Advice along the lines of "if you don't like it, go destroy the royal castle" has already been mentioned above.

If you don't like the price of potatoes - go kill the president.
If you don't like domestically produced cars - go kill the president.
If a pothole in the road isn't fixed quickly - go kill the president.
If there aren't enough curling competitions in your city - go kill the president.

That's how solve all problems.

Slippery slope arguing here my dude;

Realm chat is a luxury;

Real world parallel would be more like, some dude set up a mesh network and is handing out devices to communicate on said network. Spends the time adding repeaters to extended the range (claiming The provinces, to bring back the haven example before I lose 1/2 the spruce caps) now said dude controls the network and provides the the masses the ability to communicate. If they want to mute a spruce cap on the network they set up- GG no re.

That's it. A fairly common reason for a chat ban: you write too much. The royal face is tired of reading.

You're welcome. The point is, if you're annoyed by what someone's writing, you can use the mute command—no problem. There's no need for a chat ban. Anyone who doesn't like it will mute it.

Then you'll have to silence the entire province. I know how provinces are captured—but maybe the kingdom should give up the province?
Or follow my favorite advice: destroy the coronation stone.
Don't click in the chat.

By covering territories, the kingdom gains experience. That's what you get. And chat control was probably given to use them as free moderators—better than without them.
But now can easily create a bot to control spam. For other cases, there's a mute. Chat bans only harm the game and are used for personal gratification.

Because of these bans, no one communicates in the chat:

- Everyone spends their time on Discord. Instead of being active in the game, they're active on Discord. And those who aren't on Discord and in the game have no one to talk to. One and a half diggers in the chat.
- A newbie will come in and start asking "stupid" questions—they'll get banned for stupid questions. And they won't even understand who banned them or why. And then they'll leave. What's good about that?
- An active player will come in and start chatting actively—you'll text a lot, get banned. And again, less activity in the game. Nothing good.

They said they use bans to force people to go and smash the king's face, to increase the number of fights — nobody does that.
On the contrary, if there's no way to ban in the chat, there's a greater likelihood of conflicts:

- Someone doesn't like the kingdom's policies, so they start inciting people to revolt, looking for people to join them. You can go and give the rebel a good thrashing or wait for them to come. And with the ban function, rebellion dies at the root and there's no conflict—without chat, gathering people is too much of a hassle.
- A spy from another kingdom shows up and lures people away. Send a squad to catch him or go and destroy the kingdom he's calling—that's it, your kingdom is gone, where are you going to invite them now? With the chat ban, you just ban them and that's it. No conflicts.
- More chat activity, more socialization, and more people unite. There's a higher likelihood of fighters appearing, and therefore conflicts. When playing solo, all the time is spent gathering resources, food, and upgrading—there's no time, resources, or opportunity, and fighting is too risky.

At this point most people in here can agree that you getting banned is universally a good thing, so unless you are arguing for your fellow hearthlings we can consider the matter closed. Also, I am impressed. I did not think you were capable of the amount of the mental gymnastics that you have demonstrated in this thread, all because your ego could not handle getting a meaningless ban in a meaningless realm.:D

And what does this have to do with the chat ban feature?

I don't care about my chat ban. It's impossible to influence me that way. I've been playing the same way, and I continue to play. I still communicate with everyone I've chatted with. If I need to write something in chat, I can easily do it with a different character.

But this feature is bad and is detrimental to the game. That's why I suggested disabling it.
