Not at all sir, try not to read too much into this.
OP just has to use the correct terms to discuss his ideas. The modern popular understanding of this term includes no trading.
I'm fine moving on from ironman server discussion since we now know that OP just wants a pay to play server.

spiritualatom wrote:As explained in my previous example that highlights problems with current system (which you again did not engage with whatsoever) when buying tokens becomes the meta for smaller groups and new players

I do engage with your points.
You must have missed the explanation on how content skipping will still happen.

If you ever played legacy people were content skipping there with rmt too. In w10 there was a huge rmt market and people were asking some sellers if they accept real money.
The long time traders of haven are very trustworthy and wouldn't scam you. You can lose your whole customerbase for the future by scamming some random noob(please notice how I engaged with one of your ideas here).
Its not so clear that there will be less content skipping as you claimed(engaging with your idea here).

Another way I engaged with your idea is saying how you can also content skip by gathering certain localized resources.
These resources will be useless to a noob but will help them content skip and become the strong bully in their neighborhood with faction crafted gear.

I'm trying to find out what you think of all these ways I engaged with your ideas.
If you don't understand please let me know, its not shameful. I don't mind reiterating for you.

Lets make this clear once more:
You want a server with no tradeable tokens or hats.
It will have a sub fee.

I think this server will be mega dead player count wise.
You think people want this but they dont.

You do get that iron man mode is not one thing across games? A lot of Havens current systems would be considered iron man in other MMOs (that also being the reason this p2w aspect is so out of place.)
Runescape has had several different variants, some allowing trade between select players.
When iron man servers was brought up as a solution to the p2w issue we discussed how that would look in Haven. Obviously it would have to be more hardcore in some way to justify the label, but no trading is a very narrow definition of the term anyway. I suggested some ways that could up the "hardcoreness" (slower time progression, no TPs, less LP)
You mean using it wrong in your narrow sense of the word?

Anyhow in this thread it was brought up and discussed in the context of an alternative to the p2w main branch, never as some kind of want to simply not trade. So I think that was pretty clear all along. And also as -one- option to deal with the issue among others.

Are you equating travelling around the world to find a very high quality node valued by high level players to going into the cash shop and buying a sub token? One of these things bring more life to the world, not just through your personal search for that node but the world becomes more lived in for others through you doing that. The other action is an AFK anti-social action: Buy token with credit card, put on smurf, auto barter stand, TP back. They're so far from being the same that it's insane brother.

I played originally in 2009 so also experienced a Haven where the absolute majority of the playerbase was not RMTing and this was a minor issue. Whereas it now is the norm for a huge ammount of players. Why? Because it's dev approved and even the game design encourages it. You're of course free to think people don't want it while I think a lot of Haven players would want a game that isn't pay 2 win. So repeatedly bringing this up without doing a poll brings very little to the discussion.

You don't just keep the same level of RMT but give devs more money with this system right? You increase RMT dramatically by putting sub tokens for trade on your site, letting barter stands accept these tokens for automatic trading with them akin to a cash shop etc...

game already got massive player loss as is and moment you introduce paywall it will just die
This is very niche game and it wont survive another "world 8" situation

It's more like set timer to collect your local walled off rock crystal then use it to buy all end game gear. Wow so social. Later on in world gear which would take a new player months to earn is just useless junk to big villages. I've sold so many looted stacked gem thanes for dirt cheap. This notion of iron man or whatever is delusional. Either play in ur own bubble and don't care about others or u trade something big villages find mildly annoying to get themselves. Tokens don't change any part of that equation.

The fact that there's even more than one of you that straight up can't recognize the difference between "playing the game" and "not playing the game" just speaks to how bad the state of this game is

OP seems to still be learning the game. He doesn't know what localized resources are.
Once you get to that point in game knowledge you'll see what it means to pick these resources and how you can content skip just as easy.

Thank you for appearing immediately to smugly inadvertently prove my point, as predicted

I think OP should definitely stick around and get to a higher plane of existence within the game.
I'm looking forward to his future quality posts(not smug or sarcasm btw).
I see potential in him.

Yeah let's implement even more pay 2 win mechanics so we can make money off the ones that are still here. Even though it goes against the core fundamentals of the game.
I'm sure this will encourage player growth smile.

Na I think you're delusional trying to play if off like sub tokens are not the backbone of current trading. When you spawn into markets now you're immediately met with a stand for your sub token, not for a rock crystal.
Don't get me wrong I know a lot of players trade those as well, but let's not pretent markets wouldn't look substantially different if there was no RMT/sub tokens.

I'm well aware what a localized resource is. Last post I had to clarify for you that you're the one who doesn't know the terms you're operating with like "Iron man" mode. Do we have to go the same route on this one? Also seriously are you at the point now where you're just picking terms I've used and try to imply I'm a noob? Very substantial debating ma man.
You really don't know anything about where I'm at in the game so don't try to pretend like you do. And trust I don't need your coaching.
