Lol, you're joking right? Even the players that support your decision (myself included) were completely blindsided.
Please don't treat us like idiots.

I don't think he means the fact that there's drama, I think he means the immense amount of raw vitriol.....

If all you do is moba style pvp or hermit and interact with nobody then i guess I get it but if you interact with other people the game has never ending content. Politics, empire building, negotiations, trade what more do you want? Because it doesn't have shiny 2015 graphics? What are you some graphic whores?

P.S. Waiting for loftar to wake up to start the servers really need to get dressed since it is a payed game now.

This game is filled with bugs, the server crashes often, there are many missing features and/or messed up features and there really isn't that much content if you compare this game to something like Final Fantasy 14 (which you could subscribe to for the same price of this game).

In its current state, Haven & Hearth really is not worth $72 a year.

Not to mention, no guarantee's they can stop the reverse-compiling of the Java game client, leading to inevitable "free account" botting, hacks, exploits, etc.

Well, it might not last a year, for example.

perhaps they could have two servers, one free channel and a premium channel like what runescape is doing.

the premium server would have much better lp rates than the current ones and a better experience in general, since players in this channel are p2p players but it requires you to suscribe / pay tokens to progress. perhaps players that are paying could get advantages such as starting at the same zone, so it gives you more incentive to pay for the game.

Remember this is day 1 mate. It is expected to be buggy. It will be fine I promise

I feel kinda sad that the immediate reaction to the store and the game was so hateful and insulting. But then this is the internet and one has come to expect that people use its anonymity to behave in a way they wouldnt in a face to face situation...
I can imagine that Jorb and Loftar put a lot of work and effort into the game and where looking forward to its release as much as i/we did. That does not mean that the game and its state is not open to criticism, but it should be in a respectful fashion. Especially if you consider that the game has been a free service for so long. I personally think its only fair that you get payed for your work and i will surely take the occasion to give back for the years of fun i had with this game once its playable. Although there are surely a few points where i would like to contribute some word of critique when this wave of hate and vitriol has ebbed down.

Nothing to be sad about, this is about on par with what happens when a game adds pay requirements. Most immediately I remember this happening with Priston Tale. They moved on to a subscription based model for players above lv40, so lv1-39 were free content but after that the game was paid. Their forums were filled with people frothing at the mouth over it. To some degree it's understandable but people need to also understand that no one is their whipping boy and that they need to chill out with the hate.

Well, its fair - you make your work and get award. Just couple moments - if i pay for game it means i can require tech support, and second - it was realy not good anounce this thing like that. Realy big unpleasant aftertaste. Even i agree to pay, my mood is really bad now.

Also maybe its better to add possibility to buy online play time - to pay for time you play, if you can not play regullary.

And yes, this is funny - from beginig ppl say what a fuck i will not play for money, now thay talk about price too high, finally they start to claim more service for this money...
But its for sure, that something is gone away forever with this changes. :-)

Well, finally when this buggy shit start to work properly? I cant read the post of ppl who already was raided, till i even cant start game! ¦]

Don't delude yourself man, it means they are speaking in full honesty. Their anonymity means nothing to them, who are you, after all?

I lack a bit of sympathy because we should of been told about this a good month ago. Not necessarily numbers, but at least a heads up that "hey, we're adding a sub fee". People found out today by logging on the site and seeing a store button. I legitimately thought it was a joke after seeing the verified account option. It wasn't even acknowledged in the announcement thread. It seemed like they were trying to hide from the decision until the 48 hours were up.

I 100% support monetizing the game, even if it's being buggy and crashing right now. I think subs are a mistake but it wouldn't of had such an explosive reaction if people had of known about it ahead of time.
