I am not sure I'd have time to run a village in Haven again unless the game has a fundamental shift in the amount of time it takes to play. I've been more than happy to help other Brodgar-esque villages in the past, however, and generally range and try to protect the weak, as I did this world.

KO'd a few more. Definitely not a prolific player, however.

the fair solution is too expensive, 2 servers with 2 playstyles, pvpers can test their doommetal hardcoreness between themselves, oh wait! they dont want that! they want prey on the sardines

yes, and that's why 2 servers is the ideal solution, to separate the good from the bad

Most people who play haven do not and will never PVP in any serious manner.
Most people who play haven play because of PVP.

Having one of the strongest characters on the server is a lot less rewarding if there's nothing you could use it for, even if you were never planning to.

Building a huge sprawling defensible base is not rewarding at all if you don't feel like it has a purpose or you had to earn it. Almost nobody plays minecraft on creative.

In the same way people who it end up playing single player games on hardmode even when they die 200 times to the same boss, people who don't want to PVP in haven like the idea that they're playing a hardmode PVP game. This is a substantial % of the playerbase, and they would lose interest without the threat, even if they're trying to avoid it.

The people who play for trade may have zero interest in PVP, but what little economy that exists is driven 1000% by PVP, and their playstyle would disappear without it.

Almost nobody enjoys getting sieged and having their shitbox pushed in, but a very public siege/big fight brings in 100 interested hermits on discord/the forums. Some big sieges are the buzz of the entire community for month(s).

What experience does haven without conflict offer that multiplayer stardew valley doesn't do better? Pro tip: nothing, and that's okay because haven's brutality creates unique and worthwhile experiences.

The person who enjoys casually mining/sells black ore probably hates PVP and wants it removed. If that same person saw a PVP/PVE server option, but the PVP server had thriving trade and the PVE server didn't they'd probably have a lot more fun on the PVP server. This is, again, why you can't trust people's emotional reaction to getting shitstomped.

Not necessarily true, but in current game state yes.

For example scale of things is bigger and there is an mmo aspect of meeting all kinds of ppl, if it does things better than SV or not is purely subjective, but most things are at least as good.

That's debatable, seeing how it is in most games, I'd say most new players would still chose PVE. Still I do think that dividing the population between 2 servers might kill it. Good example of that you can see in Salem, with 20 players per server.

I feel like most new players does not exactly understand that there is pvp in the game, especially this kind of brutal pvp, so there is no way they are playing because of it.

Not exactly the most scientific approach, but if anything it's skewed super in favor of creative being over-represented considering there's like 7 billion non-creative servers for every creative one. Either way, 5550 vs. 137.

Cope. I can't imagine a world where boulders would be in stardew valley.
