I really like how a lot of you have Really detailed explanations on what you think needs to be changed.

This is not going to be one of them.

For me, the overall combat is horrid. When I watch these videos, I really don't think that was what J&L had in mind about the overall fighting concept. It frankly reminds me of FPS games where some jack ass is jumping all over the screen.

I really wish that the combat in game could really be slowed down and be more realistic. I'm not expecting fighting like in mount and blade style fighting, but more realistic never the less.

I also think that hybrid fighters should always have a disadvantage against fighters of 1 style(either Melee or UA)

I would H&H PvP describe as Benny Hill style:

... and that I don't like that.

I knew those fight videos were missing something... the correct music!!

The pace and specific tactics have changed, but is it that much different from previous combat iterations?

I gues it depends on what standpoint you speak from.

how far back should we go, because in the Very Few fights and skirmishes I have been in, it has changed rather dramatically.

Simple fix: Can we remove the whole "Quality is only counted by the last piece of coal put in smelter" mechanic?

I'd like to see brains usable for tanning. Maybe a chance that each animal will drop a brain that can be used to tan as Tanning Fluid of that quality. Could even maintain saturation necessity so it would take a few brains to properly saturate the tanning fluid. (Not accurate to RL, but that's a minor concern)
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

Well, w4 or w5 was the first I really started "following" what was actually going on in Haven. The fights I saw then, or probably I should say chases I saw then, were pretty much "run and run and run" but with tripping over everything in your way. It just doesn't really seem any different now than back then... now might be a bit (a lot?) derpier than before, but still the same overall. (Then again, I freely admit I'm a PvP noob in this game, so my perspective could be completely wrong.)

Would be nice, too. Not sure it'd drop quality any, just make the top tier a bit more valuable as it'd take more top tier trees and coal to produce the same steel.

I believe the rule of thumb is "the animal's brain has enough tannic acid in it to tan its own hide," right?

Then again, we could argue that we should be able to use wine, too, if tannic acid is what we're after.

My personal favorite version of that is: "Every animal has just enough brains to save its hide, alive or dead."

Yes, Tannic acid, which also means only some of the trees should be good for it, and some of them better than others. Tea as well for that matter. Also feces, urine, etc. Was more thinking that occasionally getting a HQ brain in the early game (or a troll brain for stupid HQ tanning on a one-shot basis) wouldn't be terrible. Really intended to serve as an early game rare accelerant for HQ tanning. Hell, I'd even be satisfied (not knowing how good brain tanning actually is) if it was a half-Q tanning solution. Could still wind up with some nice ones if you happened to bag a Q210+ animal early on.

Horses not hanging up on hearth fires would be nice too.

Farming should have Lore and Will as additional stat/skill requirements (It's grueling out under the sun, and every farmer is a pile of weather lore and superstition)

As long as the cauldron exploit is removed first this could be something.
On the other hand I'm not that fond of everything that speeds things up massively, especially early world. YMMV.

I actually really agree with you here, I was more thinking that the occasional single-item boost would be nice, but people would grind the shit out of that, so I can see your point.
