Can we not turn the discussion into a deflection war, please?

Arheolog, please enlighten me with this other perspective in which it is sportsmanlike to bot and walljump. Also, I've been meaning to ask what's up with your name being half Latin and half Cyrillic?

Yea, why has this suddenly changed from being slightly constructive... to just people pissing on each others bonfires.

You are right and not right at the same time. Depends on the situation and point of view. I think it is philosophical question

You are using your skills to create bots, so you don't have to play the game, the rest of us are using our skills to play the game. There is a difference.

Also, I don't think the majority are at all envious of your bots, last world there were clients that included bots for certain things so I hardly think anyone is envious tbh, if they wanted bots they could have them. People object to unfair play, esp in a competitive game, your actions either force ppl into botting to compete or prevent ppl from competing who won't cheat in order to do so.

You would get a great deal more respect if you could hold the 'top dog' position by your own skills and hard work rather than by using bots.

As for the custom clients, I agree on some levels which is why I have never used the auto features on my client, other features mainly just simplify J&Ls complications. :P

(Just for the record I haven't used the hide feature this world either, as with the new map I haven't found it necessary and also because the new version is too pretty to be covered in ugly blue squares ...)

Well, if they continue saying stuff like that, gonna use the only language they know.

I'm surprised by the naivety of the people, who think that botting is the only reason why certain groups prevail. The funny thing is that we did not use bots for a very-very-very long time (3+ months into the game), while all other factions were abusing them. Did botting help to Ainran, who has started doing it from the first month?
Badich has created his cow farm and has been maintaining it for the majority of time without bots, until he has quit.
Our anvil was done manually. We have never botted glimmermoss or other foragable curios. All the bricks, steel, wrought iron, gear for our walls, including Venetia, were produced manually as well.

That's great then, isn't it? Means you agree that botting is boring :) That's all it took really. I can only hope Jorb and Loftar make the game too fun to play manually so that nobody cares about the bot grind and everyone just enjoys it themselves.

Well, I cannot agree with you more. It is just my position is that people vouching for nuking people for botting are morons ignorant:
1. I doubt J&Lo can afford spending time in creating a bot-tracking system, while there are crucial problems in game mechanics and balance;
2. There are only 2 unbiased people in the developer's group. And they cannot keep spending their time on looking into every case and deciding what to do. Involving people from the forum would be an idiotic decision, since moderators are already abusing their powers for the forum wars.
3. People who vouch for that use the examples of MMOs like EVE and WoW, who have much bigger crew and income. You cannot apply the same dose of medicine that you use for adults to a child.

You don't need to catch every botter to curb large scale botting. A couple of nukes would be sufficient to deter people from fully automating their whole villages. Sure, people would still bot some things and that's not perfect, but it's a lot better than the current situation.
