The best way to implement siege IN MY OPINION would be to just re-add the siege claim system from W10 but fix the few SMOL problems it actually had (claim moving and vclaim bashing/expansion of pclaim, etc). This combined with expanding the actual time from minimum 14ish hours to 20-24 would make it reasonably hard while still doable and fix a lot of the other annoying problems (having to ram every single wall in a village of plots being nearly impossible).

I'm not sure why this entire system was scrapped when it only had a few minor flaws. It was the most fleshed out siege system you guys had ever implemented. I can't ever see a better siege system being implemented in this game.

I dunno, either you make Village Banners something you can't break as vandalism at all or third party can come and fake join the siege to break the banner that the siege relies on.

Perhaps the claim (and shield) could simply linger 24 more hours at least after banner is bashed? (Also change so that destruction of village idol causes all banners to be destroyed?)

which is very cringe and not based at all

imo claim shield was the best siege system i experienced because you actually saw people raiding places of substance WITHOUT it being trivial to smash in to everyone/everything else. if we aren't going to go back on reverting to whole previous systems i do think this current system should be culled back down to 24h. i think we're all treading water and wasting our keystrokes because the devs (at least jorb, based on however-many-different-peoples' dms to him i've seen) are probably very well aware that siege is dead as all hell in current implementation.

p.s. this is the absolute easiest world i've ever had to auth/sustain a village in because:
No wballs to worry about
rams are more likely to fall apart on themselves (full numen!)
security is a binary "Yes" or "No"
