When you put a time limit on a game that takes up a lot of time to play, eventually there will be a huge split in the progress the players who pay to play and the players who don't pay. For example if you give players 2 days vs 31 days there will be a lot more progress made in those players who play longer, which will make a permadeath game like this user unfriendly to new players. If you really want people to pay for your game then make the game about 5-15 dollars for a purchase, as in they own a copy of a game. That way everyone has a fair chance at least possibly go up against people who would have originally paid for the game. Because currently this one game alone costs more than a month of xbox live where you could get as many games as you want if you already own them.

I agree, it'd make a lot more sense to make it a one time fee to play and a lot of cosmetics at low prices. The price should be higher though, just make it $50 USD.
- Most people will stop playing altogether if there aren't enough players.
- Many poor people play H&H.
- The one time fee & cosmetic items is still good for supporting the game and helping with the botting problem.
- if you keep the tokens in and free trial time, it still allows people a chance at getting the one time fee paid if they can't afford it.
If they change subscription to one time fee, I'm assuming the player count may go up past the 2,000s.
- If you decide to take this idea, it'd be wise to post a large announcement about it on the homepage so that people see it.
- I'd also assume that if you post a developer blog about what you plan to add in the game feature wise, it will entice more players to pay for the game.
- You can turn people's months/years long subscriptions into tokens or other items if you decide to make this change so everything is fair.
- Allow people to use tokens to buy cosmetic items also.

That's how Team Fortress 2 works, and it worked that way for a good 4 years before they made the game FREE.

i cbf to read what everyone has said but here's my two cents.

qq more. these guys have put a shit ton of time, effort, and money into these games for the past I don't know how many years. If they want to charge you so you can have unlimited use of their servers then so be it! It's not like you cheapskates can't play, just not an unlimited amount. Suck it up.

not sure what you are basing that on. Of the 10ish or so active people I know, no one has, nor will to my knowledge. What they had is already lost (animals dead by now ect,) on Haven. None of them see any point in 7 hours a week = getting nothing done, or even 14 hours especially at the beginning when you are trying to set up. 15$ is best spent elsewhere since it does nothing really for you (hell you can get Shadow Of mordor at indiestars for 14.99 with all its dlc for example...lol), 10$ a month subs = 120 a year, since trusting these guys is paramount to a nun walking naked into a max security prison an expecting to be left alone, for either a game they warn is abandoned and can leave at any time (Haven) or version 2. With ver 2 being mostly much like Salem anyway which is free. Haven't played it though since it began, didn't like it then probably wouldn't like it now, but it's about the only alternative if you want a haven-ish game. So aside from the freebie cannon fodder to be raided and killed by the few payers (Which is their only real purpose considering getting set up would be impossible without 20 alts to cycle through for a hermit or small group settlement). the same circle they devs have always had nosing them, and the curious which won't last long. me thinks your optimism is humorous. But good luck to those who do.

I'm a semi old player i hop on from now and again when I get that HnH itch to play. When I head about the update wonderful beautiful awesome. Anything else that makes things awesome when you didnt expect it. When I found out about the P2P i was saddened. Ive play allot of pay to play from runescape back in the day to Wow and everything in between at one point or another. this game doesn't warrant more then 10 bucks a month for anything. Its graphics compared to old hnh upgraded. Beautiful etc. But for what they have done not so much. When Runescape went from Free to "member" it didnt cut up the old world and charge you for the "old new parts" It added more content and blocked it off if u didnt fit the member code. then they got greedy and moved skills/items etc to member only and they lost people. Myself as one of them.

Jorb/HnH god mods and supports. Upgrade should of been what it was. An upgrade. If your hurtting for money maybe open a patron or say you need to upgrade gear etc. Since the rate u "fix" and "update" this isnt number 1 in your mind. this is a side project thats getting bigger. For what your wanting for a month I can pay to blizz and get a triple A constant support as well as issue help in minutes for 15$ a month. While here we got to hope and wait till you wake come home or a mod draws attention to it for you.

Sadly My want to play this game is removed at the greed of money for something that Runescape can still top even in its new horrible incarnation.

P.S Wish you would of given us a month to see the true value of what the "new" game has to offer before you tried hitting our knees with a bat to get Ca$h out of us.

Is it greed the disposition, attitude, and/or emotion that gets you up in the morning to go to work?

I don't know about that. There are only 500 people online right now, many of which are likely not done using their free hours yet.

It just feels like people are playing because there is significantly less complaining on the forums now. There is less complaining because it has been a week since the game's release.

It varies heavily over the course of the day, and always has. This is not primetime.
