You gotta sell your game to sell your game

First let me say that I am 100% in favour of a p2p model. Games need money for development. No one's arguing against that fact. This isn't about arguing against the pay model.

The problem is with how you handled this whole situation. In all your posts about the new game, you did not mention anything about a pay model. And that does not set a very good precedent. When you're asking us to pay $10 every month, you are basically asking us to make an investment in your game, in lieu of a more traditional single investor. And guess what? Investors like to know about the future plans for the product they're investing in, both long- and short-term. A little transparency goes a long way.

So you need to give us some idea of what we're paying for in terms of future development, especially since you have 1-year subscriptions available. Answer some questions. Questions like:

1. What do you plan to do about botting?
2. What about the server situation?
3. Are there any plans to hire new staff?
4. Can we expect regular updates to the game?

And most importantly, you need to advertise any large changes, especially ones that concern game functions, well ahead of time. No one's going to want to subscribe to a game when they don't know what to expect a month or six down the road.

If anyone has any other questions similar to the ones above, go ahead and post them. I will collect them into this post.

Sorry for the late reply.

1. Try to design mechanics that make it harder or less rewarding to bot. We do not plan to fight the symptoms.
2. What about it, indeed?
3. If that seems feasible and meaningful given the money we take in then, sure.
4. Yes.
