death hurts a lot when you get 0 LP back, can subscribers get some lp return on death?

No, that would be an actual form of definitive P2W. There is no paywall, why should this be implemented?

Napoleon the pig here has a point. Death in H&H is intended to matter, but if you stockpile against it, you can lessen the bitterness just a little. Death in H&H is a big thing for anyone, from the little fellow in the cabin to the big guy in the brick wall.

Keeping alts running with exp is a pain in the ass. Getting combat alts combat discoveries is also a huge pain in the ass.

There are so many. Just keep farming combat. You don't even have 2 of the damage types unlocked even.
