I agree, can't even forage at night since they spawn in clusters. RNG could insta-death you since their icon is barely visible and running into them happens often.

For me it's a roll of the dice checking my mine to see if it's packed with them and if I can prospect for ores. I'm nowhere near being able to defeat them yet, and there's too many of them anyway. They're more like piranhas with wings than actual bats.

Initially I tip toed round them to great success, then a few days ago that failed to work and I went from 110 to 25 HHP due to a swarm, I haven't gone back to the ore vein since. They're really the most dangerous critter in the world right now due to the swarm behaviour and they absolutely infest the underground layer.
