Good to know I'm ordering torches made.

I'll consider it.

Save me one till tonight.

Smelt rates really do feel a little low btw. So many smelters with 0 bars... Or are there hidden mechanics in place here? Some skill determining how many bars come out?

Loftar, did you copy paste the values for mining as full nature in old have to be the default values in 2.0?

Each ore has its own smelt rate.

I think the problem is specifically the two soft ores beginners can find. Iron ochre is frustrating, heavy earth makes you feel like you're wasting your time.

Can't say what the later ores are like cause I can't find/mine em yet.

I think a lot of it is perception too. In H&H if you did mining with a no industry character you were an idiot because your ore -> metal rate was frustratingly low. We're all no industry now so all ore mining is at that same frustratingly low level.

I made one yesterday, they last at least an hour or so if you just let them go but are easily refuel-able using tar. Lighting a torch still requires a fire. You can use the torch to light anything but to keep the torch lit requires it to be on your cursor or equipped. Putting it back in your inventory or dropping it on the ground/in a container causes it to go out.

Until you've smelted some bloodstone I think it's called? It's not worth talking about the bar rate of "all ores". I hear some of the rarer/higher tier ones are very good.

But the low tier ores are indeed a little too shitty atm.

Ahh I've only tried Ochre, it's good to know there's better though if that's confirmed.
