Some Idea about Combat Discoveries

Postby user20158301 » Sat Sep 12, 2015 3:23 am

So, of course when the char dies, all combat moves discovered are lost.

Also, I feel that having more than 2 of a single combat move is not so helpful in my fights against animals. This might be a different case when it comes to PVP, but I think maybe Jorb can make having multiple of a single move be more useful by making it that when you have 2 or 3 or 3 or more of the same move, your move increase in effectiveness?

Also, because when the char dies, all combat moves are lost. Maybe adding something called books where you can make a book about a combat move, this book can be used by another char to learn that move. At the expenses of making the book, the char making the book shall lose one card of this move (can be regained later in fights though), and the book require some other material maybe (ink from inkweed, parchment from dried hide).

What do you hearthlings think.

Books could be a thing, yes.

Opens up the potential for extremely hard to get/find moves that become a trading commodity. If something's trade-able, it can be rare enough that not everyone can loot it reliably.

Excellent idea although i think if you are going to have card type combat it needs to be turn based....

That'd kinda remove a lot of the skill with using high/low cd moves and having high agi though. Being able to heartily outpace somethings reactions seems to be a really major aspect of combat now.

Would strip away the entire balancing act of agility compared and also move timers. I don't think that'd help the system as it'd need an entirely new massive balance revamp. Plus what exactly would agility do then?

Gentlemen, when I say card, I don't mean for the battle system to become card based, I was referring to the combat moves and attacks, I see them as cards.

We know that. I suppose pain means to say "randomly chosen moves" should have a turn based system.

I would like to lock in moves to spots instead of it being random if you have 5 or less cards in your deck
