Wooden keyrings

Why can't we carve a keyring from wood or a string even?
Having to get iron just because of this is kinda weird.

you can use any metal. why do you have so many keys if you don't have access to even a tin nugget?

Key rings are useless anyway. you can make all your doors work with 1 key.

Take the master key you want to make the MAIN key and use it to click a lock.
have the other master key of the door you're chaning in your inventory click the lock to the door.

Congrats you now have a door that works with 1 key.

but I do agree maybe a wooden keyring with 4slots. ;)
WARNING! MY ENGISH SUCKS.

Quite easily and it's beyond the scope of this thread.

But what about different locks on different doors? My friends and I are setting up a village where we will give out keys that give access to a communal area where we'll set up little "businesses," and we're going to have separate locks/keys for areas that will only be for villagers, like our personal houses and crops and stockpiles.

I think a more easily accessible keyring is a good idea. Better yet, make it an accessory so I don't have to use up an inventory space or retrieve it from a hiding spot every time I want to get in and out. I understand why stuff like frying pans and meat grinders have to be metal, but a keyring? Especially considering how early you can get locks and keys, compared to actually being able to do anything productive with mining.
