Chat Channels

Checked 10 pages and didn't see this mentioned, slightly surprised.

I think either the ability to create chat channels or some pre-existing channels would be a nice addition to the game.

'Trade', 'Help' and other chat channels have some obvious benefits for encouraging player interaction, even if they would provide a target for concentrated shitposting.

The game can also feel quite lonely at times and when I do eventually meet someone it can be risky to stay and talk long without a wall between us. The villages I am on good terms with say similar things, they've lost players along with their activity within their village chat, leaving some days very quiet. I would like a better way to talk with these people as well as various other players than doing so one-on-one or via the forums.

Skype or other methods of chat are always an option and no doubt in use by the more hardcore villages but I would prefer to see an in-game solution, something that would be available to everyone in some way.
