Dryads

Postby Fierce_Deity » Tue Oct 06, 2015 7:15 pm

I would enjoy seeing the Dryads fleshed out. Our walking tree friends need some more personality to them. Make it so we can do battle with Dryads and fight
them in an epic battle to the death. Dryad battles should be risky, more so than a bear battle. Dryads should be seen as the overworld troll. I envision a fight where the Dryad spawns a ring of trees around itself and its opponent that remains there until the battle is over, and maybe stays if the hearthling foolish enough to challenge the Dryad wins.
A killed Dryad can be...butchered? for boughs, blocks, and branches.
Other Dryad ideas
-Has a ranged attack
-Is peaceful until aggroed or until someone offends it. Dryad will be offended for example if you are chopping down a tree.
-Can drop a rare curiosity. Dryads Heart. Would be a wooden heart o something.
-Different types of Dryads for every tree :D
Thoughts?

I would rather the dryads are peacefull and keep running, you can“t kill it but if you can get close enough you could snatch some of the dryads "hair" and use that as a curio, same way with aurochs hair except no agroo.

Also rarely you could get a different rarer curio when picking dryads "hair". :D

i rather see dyrads turn into the treants instead.

They walk around the forest talking to their brother trees.

When a treant walks into a place that is completely chopped away and removed they give pissed off and throw rocks that are scattered around the world into the village, or active hearthlings in the village.

Treant rock throw would work like a trebuchet, causing damage to anything it hits.

also if strangers are in his forest and causes trouble ( cutting trees, acts of aggression, etc ) he will go and scoop them up.

If a village causes devistating damage to the treants area, they pretty much declare war and he will not stop attacking the village until he or they are dead.

I think this fits into the scheme of jorb and loftar to cause quick death to player.

I wish they fleshed out random world bosses of each animal type, they only patrol a certain area for some time, then completely random to another spot of the map

For example: who would piss their pants at a Boss Bat out of nowhere in a cave :D

I figure this is the problem that really needs solving.

There's a reason why I mentioned it. ^^
