Improve ridges

Postby jordancoles » Sun Oct 11, 2015 12:12 am

I can't count how many times my character has shimmied up against a cliff wall instead of climbing up it
This is very dangerous in both pve and pvp... Run into a cliff expecting to go up only to be met by an unpassable wall

Please look into how ridges and your character interact because I am getting clipped on even completely flat walls

Yeah I've had my butt kicked by a couple of boars and a badger because of that.

Would it be better to have a character always jump down a click anytime you double click against it? I'm personally thinking it would, which a little "pathfinding" could probably make happen in 95% of cases.

Yes

There isn't much point to shimmying against the ridge
It's neat, but really no point
You can always go up or down

+1 got mauled hard by a bear earlier because of this

I actually accounted for retarded cliffs and picked the most flat area and threw up defences before climbing but still managed to do shimmy thing and got mauled in the ass after I already climbed up

Yeah that's because of how the ridge tiles work. The top and bottom are the same tile so if it can hit you at one spot it can hit at the other too.

That'd be nice, but, also, play around it. You know this is a thing.
