Idea - Removing Tree stump gives 4 soil = quality of tree

Just what it says, it would be awesome if it gave us 6 soil per stump to expand kinda? Just so we don't end up with meteor impacts all over the place at ql nodes (but we would still have to find them in the first place). It could just put the soil in your inv or on the ground to pick up.

You could throw soil from elsewhere into the "craters" if that's a problem :P

I don't think that changes the soil Q... does it?

na it doesn't, pretty sure jorb talked about that. But just for convenience sake, soil from stumps would be nice i think.

This would pretty much remove the way you need a soil node to do hq treefarming, so I don't think its a good idea.

No, you would still need to find a soil node to have your initial trees gain quality. I said the soil you get is = to tree quality so. yea you would still need soil nodes of ql.

I also thought maybe it just gives you 2 - 3 soil so you actually still have to go retrieve some soil from your node. I dunno either way I just don't want a giant crater in my grassland really.

No, you wouldn't. If your water/pots/table are decent, then your initial trees will gain q even with q10 soil.

And yeah, eventually you will get better soil from your trees than exists in any node.

well also if you traded w someone and got high ql tree seeds you would have endless soil with 4 per stump. so yea 4 doesn't work but, maybe 2 soil per stump could be an option.

No getting something for nothing is not a good mechanic. If you want to talk about slowly manipulating soil via composting and enriching ti maybe but not just because you harvest a quality tree.

"from nothing"? um well you put in 4 soil to begin with and water, and the seed so. Also in real life plants put nutrients into the soil as they grow.
