Whale Hunting

So we already have rowboats, we just need harpoons and an ocean and whales, then we can go hunt and kill whales by throwing harpoons into their backs.

whale blubber can be turned into oil which burns long term even when dropping in your inventory or ground. (oil torch) you can also build lanterns that will burn long term on your plot or mine.

whale bones can be carved into curios and Q range up to from Q100 avg up to Q600.

Whale meat will provide a ton good for meat pies and steak and tubers.. mmmmmmmmmhmmmmmmm

thank you

B

P.S. make us ships to build and sail - so we can trade around the ocean ports - thanks

Yes pls. But make whales aggressive, and require longboats to be crewed by press-gangs of rowing alts. Can't wait for the drama when whole villages are getting #rekt by whales and drowning at sea.

Also hunted whales should rot, and stink after a while.. faster than you finish butchering them. Until you can collect bones, you gotta wait 10 days IRL time, while the stink gives noticeble stat debuf and halts hunger bar decrease in its minimap visibility radius.

If you start butchering whale only after some reasonable time after its death, it has a chance to explode, scattering its innards and gut fluids around the place.

The stench around rotting whales carcass should attract foxes, bears, and grubs (their spawn chance in the area will get multiplied by some factor)

It's on my list of things I dream about for some semi far-off future.

But how would they be transported?
Obviously a player can't carry a ten ton sperm whale over their head, right?
(Would be funny though)

Hunting creatures that would require actual team work besides just blocking it on all four sides would be fun.

Chance to safely land ashore after grabbing onto driftwood from a failed attempt would be nice though.
