Trees dropping branches, seeds, etc when chopped

It's not like everything but the trunk of a real tree just disintegrates when the tree is chopped down, why can't any leaves, boughs, branches, acorns, etc. left on the tree drop on the ground when you chop down the tree?

That's perhaps not a terrible idea.

Just make leaves drop into a pile if there are more than say 20 of them, generating 250+ gobs at once probably not good
