Carrier Chickens

Carrier Chickens.. I want these. Chickens maybe specially grown with a inventory that fly to a "Trading Center" with items in them. GUI that you can add a person name and amount of items you want for trade. Maybe add some travelers sack slots for more inventory. If said person sends a chicken with the correct items for trade in it then the deal is made and the chicken returns with your item... set a timer or recall button in case one person's chicken never shows up. Don't make it instant but take forever either, maybe 12-24 hours. Maybe even use the current Barter Stand system and Chickens fly directly to the Barter stands themselves, allowing trade without having to still travel the whole map to make said trade.

Unless with the new kingdoms mechanic coming you do not want cross kingdom trading happening.. in that case then disregard my suggestion or just implement it within a Kingdom.

Perfectly safe and easy trade is antithetical to socialization in the game and the core concepts of risk and threat. While you may argue that the game does not accomplish trade in a satisfactory way, this is not a good solution.

While I get that having players walking 2 to 8 hours to trade even within their own Kingdom is what would be is considered a core mechanic in the game, I feel at some point for this game to succeed in any way that the developers are going to have to compromise in some way. The game itself as has been said many times is very niche in that over the last three years I have been playing off and on, its still the same ppl playing it not only in type of player but actually see the exact same names that I did when I first started on the forums. Those ppl being of the "hardcore" gamer type and I get that out of a population only about 10% at best post on a forums as I have worked for several gaming companies myself in both customer service as well as QA, if they want any growth at all then compromises will need to be made.

Playing this game effectively is literally like having another job in that it takes a exorbitant amount of time for everything , and now the best solution to trading is spending even more time walking to the person you need something from. As far as socializing in the game, I am assuming you mean contacting someone on the forums and then agreeing to meet them somewhere? My suggestion was simply trying to add the "grind" of the game mechanics EX: having to breed and take care of the chickens themselves while also allowing for the mechanic of nothing being instant by having the wait time for return being 12-24 hours. I'm not sure how much trading you have actually done in game but from my experience the person I usually want to trade with is not very often my next door neighbor or even in the same SG as me.

Maybe a better solution would be pack donkeys that actually traveled the world using the same pathing mechanics that animals do to get around objects, that way players could camp your base or the base of the trader partner to kill and loot them effectively keeping with the "moar tearz plox" attitude of the game. I have the luxury of being able to support myself by simply working on weekends and can if I choose spend every weekday playing the game, however I do not believe that is the case with everyone. Anyways just throwing some ideas out there.

Where i'm stationed I've yet to see a soul except mt 3 IRL buddies. I'm not saying we need carrier chickens, but without some faster/easier trading mechanic i'll likely never bother trading as it is not worth the hike.

As much as we do need a better method of trading, this isn't really a healthy solution.

would people be able to shoot down the chickens? and if someone were to do that would you get scents or not?
