Currency change

Postby ElCabron » Wed Jan 20, 2016 11:31 pm

Hello, i`m Renan and i`m from Brazil, i`m an old HnH player. i was looking at the prices and i was thinking "is that price fair?" i`m not from a country that use dollar, so i don`t know if it is expensive or not in their country, but in brazil specifically it is extremely expensive (monthly), World Of Warcraft for example is 3x less than HnH (in Brazil). I know it is hard to do changes, maybe impossible, i think its a good idea to use the p2p model to support the game and your own life, but is almost impossible to pay this price with the currency change. i don`t have much hope but...i still belive that`s possible :D . Please answer, keep the good work :D . (sry about m english)

Hi Renan, could you explain me something I cant understand :
I see often this type of complains and its fair to me.
But when I travel, I dont see any difference in prices in weak currencie's country.
How much is the price of a bottle of Coca Cola in Brasil ?
Here its about 1$, and what about a meal ? In Europe its about 8$, cigarettes are about 5$.
Just curious.

Maybe you could give up on the monthly sub and go for account verification. Also I didn't use any money:

Just to give a thumbs up and also to share my experience regarding supporting H&H. I didn't use my money, didn't link my paypal to my bank account which is good in my opinion. When I ran out of time I did payed microtasks/crowdsourcing on some sites and eventually gathered enough money to withdraw and verify this account. There are several sites to do that, so if you can't use link your bank account to paypal or don't want to it's a rather good solution.

:D

It's not the best solution and it may not be the quickest one, but it is one :)

Well... if you don't understand i will explain ;) , first, a bottle of Coca Cola (converting to Dollar) is about 2 Dollars, a meal converting to Dollar is about 10 Dollars (Europe don't have a weak currencie '-'), i have no idea about cigarettes =/, and games in Brazil are second cheapest in the world. But, the point is... don't matter the price, what matter is your country average salarium + the price, Ex: if you pay 1$ ea meal and you receive 0,10$ it will be expensive. The average salarium in Brazil (converting to Dollar) is about 300-500 Dollars. But my idea isn't make the prices lower, my idea is make a currency system, to make fair prices to every country, Ex: World of Warcraft in North America is 15 Dollars and in Brazil is 15 Reais(Brazil currency) the same system that steam uses. I don't know how viable it is but...that's my idea. i hope you understand :D (Again, sorry about my english)

So... Will the time stack? like...with the free HnH you just receive more play time when you reach less than 7 hours, with the verified account will it stack? like...if leave my account and come back after 3 weeks will i have + 42hours?

sometimes what happens with weak currencies is not that the stuff gets more expensive, but that the conversion makes it extremely expensive, for example, i live in venezuela and people wage is usually 10 $ a month, and so prices must get accommodated for people to actually be able to buy stuff, but in places outside venezuela, where the prices are not ajuste this way, even 5 dollars is really hard to afford. On the other hand, if you come from somewhere outside and exchange your curency for venezuelan, you should be able to buy stuff at way lower prices than you would normally find (exception being places frequented by tourists). here a can of coke would be about 0.25$

People would ABOOSE.
They would use dns to get cheaper accounts.
Sure it might give you big ping if you live in europe. But for botting it doesnt matter that much.

Elcabron is right but you are too. Something similar happened with League of Legends philipines and the rest of the world. I think they solved it by not letting those accounts move to other servers, but I'm not sure. Yeah, i think its quite impossible right now.

Well, i'm not sure if this will be a problem with a small game, but it is possible.
And yes, that's a problem, they will probably not have a hight ping, cuz they can buy the token and send to their original accounts.
But using dns, you have a chance to lock your card.
The dns problem is old, there is probably a solution already.
Well...if there isn't a solution, i lost this battle :| GG. I will keep thinking a way to block

Thanks. Localized pricing requires a fair amount of maintenance. I'm not excluding it, but I'm not sure we can make it a priority.
