Compost Bins

Soil is a technically limited resource unless you level massive areas.

why not add a compost bin made of wood, put in some worms and unwanted crops/fruits and bingo high q soil.

"But muh soil nodes", simply make bin q affect soil q so you need high q wood (essentially requiring high q soil in the first place). In other words, a slow soil spiral made faster by high natural soil nodes.

similar mechanic in Salem to make humus which could be used in pots - great idea for tree/bush planting. Just have to plant more carrots to fill bins, but +1 for sure. wood impacting it I could live without - Q is hard enough without adding variables, but if we have to....

We could use something similar for Acre Clay too. As far as I know there's no way to replenish clay.

+1 to this idea.

While searching for high quality nodes is great and all, maybe this can be a very slow alternative, it takes a looooooooong time to compost, balancing out the possibility that soil nodes would become obsolete.

You still have the obvious people who will build 1000 of them to get 1k soil a day or whatever.. but hey, they put the work in to build and maintain it, i dont see that as an issue.

Grinding a reddish stone like feldspar or cinnabar somehow?

We should really be able to grind stones into sand anyways.

For balance's sake/to keep naturally high q soil useful, probably is necessary.
