Doomsday camera 2.0 - Hafencam

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

Doomsday camera 2.0 - Hafencam

Postby Carebear » Thu Feb 18, 2016 2:38 pm

Seeing the camera got me thinking, wouldn't it be interesting to have a camera up 7/24 showing random claims for X minutes then moving to another. Basically pick a random claim (V or P) and showcase its area for 15/30/whatever minutes. Could do other options (follow the hearthling, random wandering, follow the scary animal)

If the devs are looking for revenue why not leave a stream of the game up, I am sure folks will watch. Just a random carebear thought... now get W9 up. Thanks.

Has some privacy issues, but could be fun.

Text bubbles should be disabled though.

I know if I was on cam I would panic and log out, I think that sounds like a really scary idea.

That sounds very neat.

Of course no map, and do people really use areachat much vs villagechat? I can see it needing an adult rating due to penis art and idiot-areachat.

Not everyone has village + bubbles look neat.

Agreed that this has privacy issues. Serious privacy issues in the form of conversations being seen by outsiders, but also in-game privacy issues such as highlighting security flaws on a claim and the presence of lootable materials (I have literally hidden trees in the forest before to make people not notice higher quality trees, and I've had metals on shitty-looking claims before).

It would be interesting to see, but I definitely wouldn't want my claim to be visible through this.

^^ Same as, it's honestly a terrible idea ... no doubt it would be interesting to view others villages but I doubt most would feel the same when it came to their own.
