animals should have stamina, different movement speeds and stamina drain rates on different terrain, and injuries should limit movement speed

An amusing way of torturing animals like this is to allow them to lick their wounds after given time where they would stand still and heal a minor amount of damage, at which point you just start shooting again.
W3 to W6 - Blockland. Special mentions: New Avalon, Tarn of Hotdog, Red October.
W7 - Elvenia, til we all got lazy.
W8 - Cult of R'lyeh, til the deeps called us back.
W9 - Tartarus, til death/wizards came for the land itself.
W10 - ???, ruined and forgotten.

This is the best solution.

This is my preferred method. Then again, I am someone that really likes the URW hunting mechanics.

Currently its impossible to hunt anything that runs away 2 fast. (Atleast mooses, foxes, badgers, deers etc.)
Only way is to onehit them which is quite difficult sometimes.

I would agree, it sucks the most with a sling for sure, in fact I find slings pointless.

Yeah sling seems to fill a non existent role, it only works as a weapon when you're abusing animal ai and has no place in pvp.
