Make places of murder somehow haunted, like by addint ghosts (acting like dryads, appearing rarely and giving a experience or something, not really game impacting) they could also say on chat how they were murdered (like ???:raped by russians) just to make places of genocide more spooky.Maybe some scary ambient sounds aswell?

Rivers would turn into ghost haunts very very fast :v
W3 to W6 - Blockland. Special mentions: New Avalon, Tarn of Hotdog, Red October.
W7 - Elvenia, til we all got lazy.
W8 - Cult of R'lyeh, til the deeps called us back.
W9 - Tartarus, til death/wizards came for the land itself.
W10 - ???, ruined and forgotten.

Unlike me.
Waiting for something to happen? Everything is going to be okay.

There was an old "jorbian ramblings" thread a while ago where spirits of the drowned would arise to haunt nearby things. It had some slavic background, forget the name of the creature though.

PvPers usually stick to rivers, she wasn't referring to idiots drowning themselves.

Pretty much. With the addition of asphyxiation damage as an alternative to instant drowning, such drowners aren't as common now.
Though some people still get cheeky and try to cross wide rivers.
