Do cave surface tiles need to cause cave ins?

I feel like they don't. Would be nice if you could mine the cave surface so you have a starting point to play minesweeper without getting randomly bitchslapped for HHP damage.

Exploratory mining was a fun part of the game.

Already requested multiple times, but yes: breaking cave walls should not cause cave-in to make the system more starter friendly.

Is this not the case currently? Though I've mined plenty of spots on the cave wall, I haven't had a single one cause a cave-in before. The only cave-in I've experienced was on a non-wall tile which I knew was potentially unsafe.

I was actually wondering myself, then I got instantly KO'd with 50+ hhp damage. Feel free to test yourself ;)
