We have Runestones, wooden posts, and parchment, but why not tablets made of clay?

It could act as a precursor to parchment. Uses a couple of clay and has less writing space than a piece of parchment, but no animal skin is required.

Maybe increase the writing area of parchment too, because less than that would be like 12 characters

Rosetta stone when?
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

When you read from it there should be custom fonts at no curved line in letter.

... uncultured brute. The Germanic diversity train will be hitting you up next.

Don't mind clay tablets, if perhaps a bit redundant. Will consider.

Why would item variety be an issue? It's immersive.

Not an issue, but perhaps not something I should prioritize either.
