Drink 'Branding'

Postby DaniAngione » Sat Aug 05, 2017 8:59 am

This is a very simple yet cool idea that could perhaps work well now that trading/markets have been a very active and real thing - more than ever before - in the last few worlds with Visitor debuff and such...

First of all, I was going to suggest two things. This and wine aging, but since wine aging was already suggested, I'll just drop the link:
viewtopic.php?f=48&t=54608&p=746579#p725008

Now for the branding...
As I said, very simple idea:

Right clicking with a parchment on a drink Bottle allows you to "brand" the drink. Literally like a bottle label.
You could name different drinks, beers, wines, etc... have famous brands known for their qualities and such.

And if aging is ever implemented, branded wines could also include the "bottling date" (in-game day) so you know how old that wine is. "Oh, look, a bottle of Wulfkin's special blend from day 150!"
:D

It's a simple/silly idea but I guess it could add another layer of fun to the game.

Larpy, could be fun. Add in tracking how the bottles were stored (fail conditions as in RL like light, shaking, ...) to modify the quality...?

I don't think it's a silly idea. Things like this add lore content to the game exponentially as the world gets older.

It could be implemented alongside the mechanics of letting endgame players name some items (swords, armor etc.).

It should have different buffs depending on how it's aged, what ingredients are used and other shit.

Combination items and it gives FEP in droves, but quickly rapes satiations (making drink satiations worth something). Combinations can be branded, and in different quantities. Brewing in diff locations, etc. all apply different FEP.

Fuck that'd be so cool. Like alcoholic cheese.

On it's own funny idea.

But adds very little because it's just wine bottles with notes attached.

I propose to add some sort of wine ageing tree such as cheese has maybe for different effects on other satiations maybe.

Haven't thought about details but something like that would add value to this branding of drinks I think.

read the post above yours

aging, different ingredients and locations, etc, all provide different FEPs that rapidly diminish due to satiations, but can become highly efficient as food

haven needs a "Terroir" system for cheese, wine, beer, even food... could create some economy around it...

Cool system could be implemented to model wine aging and stuff like that. But I think its a lot of effort just for some very specific stuff related to one drink. There are many things that could be said have a higher priority than fancy stuff like this.
