Let's face it, boats are a quick and easy way to get a couple of containers around, and until you have a Knarr/Wagon/Bull with a pack-rack are the transport tool du-jour. Carts are fantastic for early game, but for long-distance travel and return they lack the beautiful simplicity of a boat, and many people use this technique even into late game. I would like to suggest that travois get added for land-travel simplicity.
Travois would be a two-liftable space item that you can drag with you across the land at the same speed you can walk across that land (max of 3rd speed, as per the cart). Benefits of a cart?
Like the boat, you can hearth/teleport with a travois and its contents. Like a cart, you can travel overland at a reasonable speed with it. It can be lifted and placed in something capable of holding a liftable (like a boat), and in turn, can have liftables (like boats) placed on it. This makes it the perfect nomad set up, and beneficial for long-distance overland travel.
Drawbacks:
Like the boat, your hands are considered 'full' when pulling it, meaning you have to set it down to harvest items or fight. (Frankly, I don't think this is terribly important and detracts from its utility some, and is primarily intended to be a way to make the bull preferable)
Like boats/carts/wagons/etc, you can't put liftables in it containing liftables. (Like Boats)
I can't think of anything about this design that's OP or game-breaking in any way, it just seems like a very simple Quality of Life thing that makes long-distance travel a bit easier, as well as essentially creating a 'land-boat' that doesn't slow you down as much.
Have I missed anything?
