Let me turn the music off

There is no option allowing me to disable the music in the default client.

There should be.

The music is part of the "ambient sound" volume slider that you can turn down to zero.

I would like to hear the sounds of the world without the music playing over the top. Is there any reason the two have been merged together?

Yeah, I kinda agree ... pretty much to be able to listen our own music without loosing game sounds.

It always bothered me why there is no separate section for music volume, but I just get used to turn off sounds whenever I get to cave/cellar and just...

Well, they use the same mechanism, so it isn't entirely trivial to split them up into different volume controls, but I'll admit I have thought the same thing myself from time to time.

Any news of a way to disable music and keep ambiant sounds?
I'm new to the game, and playing without ambient sounds (only option) is kind of a show stopper for me...
